Description
Millet had received a commission for two large paintings to be placed in the Governor’s Reception Room in the Minnesota Capitol building. One of the paintings was the “Treaty of the Traverse des Sioux” the other painting was of the “Fourth Minnesota Regiment entering Vicksburg” for which this study of a Wounded Confederate soldier and a study of a Union soldier guarding the parade route were completed by Millet.
