New England Countryside

This painting needs to be verified as an actual Millet painting through provenance etc.

This painting was partially misidentified at the most recent sale as Francis Daris Millet; though the accepted birth and death dates are listed  (American, 1846-1912)  The title is given as “New England Countryside,” but that title is not identified as provided with provenance or was simply a description of the assumed scene.  It is listed as oil on canvas, and as signed lower right, with a name plaque lower center.  However the signature is unreadable in the catalog photo.
