Lawrence Barrett was a popular classical actor of the 19th Century and friend of Millet. Barrett had Millet, then the foremost authority on Greek and Roman costume, design and sew most of his costumesof the genre.
Millet was widely known as the worlds expert on Greek/Roman dress. He gave presentations both in America and Europe. A database, GenealogyBank, has approximately 2,000 clippings about Millet lectures.
