Description
This painting was done by Millet when he was a student in the Royal Academy of Art in Antwerp, Belgium.
George Maynard a life long friend did this painting of Millet at the Royal Academy, dated 1872. Later Maynard also did the magnificent portrait of Millet as a war correspondent, only 6 years later in 1878. It is very interesting to see the maturity Millet had gained in those few short years.
